We are in a strong buyers market. The months of supply is amount of time it would take to sell the current inventory given the current supply and consumption rate. Generally six months is considered a balanced market. Above that favors buyers and below that favors sellers. Additionally you can see above that the average home is smaller, lower priced and taking longer to sell.
Hope for sellers.Recently President Bush signed into lawa new bill that will make it easier for some to buy a home.A tax credit of $7500 will help individuals making less than $75,000 per year and couples making less than $150,000 per year. The buyer must not have owned their primary residence in the last three years. This new stimulus may increase sales activity if the news media decides to carry the story. Its good news so it will probably stay suppressed until after the election.
